ZAMBIA - COUNTRY PROFILE SUMMARY

ABOUT ZAMBIA
Zambia is a Landlocked Country located in Southern Africa. It borders Angola, Botswana, Congo DR, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
Zambia is a member of a number of international organisations, including the United Nations, World Trade Organisations, Common Markert for East, Central & Soutern Africa (COMESA), Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) and other social and economic bodies.
The Country is mostly Savanna Woodlands, with many water bodies including the Lake Tanganyika, Lake Bangweulu, Lake Mweru, Lake Kariba, Lukanga Swamps, Zambezi River, Kafue River, Luangwa river, Luapula River and other smaller rivers.
Zambia's main tourist attractions include the Victoria Falls, Kafue National Park, Luangwa National Park, Mosi-O-Tunya Game Park, and Sioma National Park among others.
The Country is host to a number of minerals including Copper, Cobalt, Zink, Gold, Lead, Manganese and many types of Precious Stones. 
The climate is suitable for all types of Farming, and over 70% of land is available for farming. The government is currently persuing an economic policy centred on Agriculture to avoid dependancy of Mining which is the country's main stay. Weather is generally mild with temperatures ranging from 15 Degrees in the Cold Season to 38 Degrees in the Hot Season.
The Country is divided into ten provinces namely Central Province, Copperbelt Province, Eastern Province, Luapula Province,  Lusaka Province, Muchinga Province, Northern Province, North Western Province, Southern Province and Western Province. 
Zambia is generally known for its friendly and peaceful people. With a population of about 16,000,000 and 73 Tribes, there is a lot to see in terms of Culture. English has been maintained as the official language since independence from British rule in 1964. Main Local Languages include Tonga, Lozi, Nyanja, Bemba, Lamba, Kaonde, Tumbuka, Lenje, Luvale and Lunda,
